Patternhouse - CUSHIONS

Created by Martina Drechsel, Patternhouse is a design project that starts from the rehabilitation process undertaken by people with mental health problems, The results are cushions with bright colours and unexpected patterns, unique pieces that decorate the sofas at ICARO. Inspired by modern art and simple handicraft practices, the patients at Casa Basaglia in Merano create the shapes and colours of the patterns in a creative and independent way, then transpose them from the drawing onto the embroidered fabric.
